Centriq is gone. Your home's records don't have to be.
Centriq, the app that read an appliance's nameplate and found its manual, ceased operations on January 31, 2026. Users got one month's notice in an email dated December 11, 2025, and a CSV export of their text fields. The app is off the App Store and the website is offline; nothing stored there can be reached now.
If you kept that CSV, HavenBinder imports it in a few minutes. If you didn't, the camera rebuilds the list faster than you'd think. Either way, this page sticks to facts you can check, including the two things Centriq did that HavenBinder does not.

Considering Homer?
Homer is the app most often named as Centriq's replacement, and its founder shipped a Centriq CSV importer within a week of the shutdown email. Homer's own FAQ says it is not affiliated with Centriq. It is a capable app, and if automatic manuals are the main thing you want back, it does that on its paid plan. A few things are worth knowing before you move years of records into it.
| Homer | HavenBinder | |
|---|---|---|
| Owner's manual found automatically | ✓ On the paid plan | ✗ You attach it yourself |
| Export your records yourself | ✗ No homeowner export is offered; its privacy policy lets you request data portability by email | ✓ Settings → Your Data, any time, with every photo and document |
| Who owns the manuals and AI notes added to your records | ✗ Its terms say that "Homer Data" belongs to Homer and is removed if you downgrade | ✓ Everything in your binder is yours |

| Emergency card for whoever is home | ✗ Not advertised | ✓ Free on every plan |
| Hand the records to the next owner | ✗ Sold to realtors and developers through Homer Pro | ✓ Included with Premium |

| Share with family | ✓ Everyone can edit; roles only in Homer Pro | ✓ Co-owner, edit, view-only and Emergency Access roles |
| On a computer or iPad | ✓ Web app; no iPad app by design | ✓ Web app in any browser |
| Price | ✓ Free tier; Premium listed from $4.99 to $69.99 in the App Store | ✓ Free tier; Premium $7.99/mo or $59.99/yr; Household $99.99/yr |
Bringing your Centriq records into HavenBinder
- Find your Centriq CSV. If you used Export My Inventory before January 31, 2026, Centriq emailed you a link to a CSV. Search your email for "Centriq" and save the file. If you never exported, there is no way to get the data now, and nobody can fetch it for you. Skip to step 3.
- Import it into HavenBinder. Create a free account, open Inventory, and tap Import. Upload the CSV. The columns match themselves (brand, model, serial number, room, purchase date, notes) and you see a preview before anything is saved. Anything with a brand and model is checked against the CPSC recall database.
- Rebuild the rest with the camera. Photos, manuals and documents were never in Centriq's export. Point the camera at each nameplate and HavenBinder reads the details into a record with its photo. Attach the manual as a PDF or a link. On Premium the camera also reads receipts and warranty cards for you.
- Set the reminders once. Open Tasks → Maintenance Guide. It lists the upkeep for the systems your home actually has, and one tap turns each item into a repeating schedule. The water heater flush comes back every February on its own.
Common questions
Is Centriq really gone?
Yes. Centriq ceased operations on January 31, 2026. The notice went to users by email on December 11, 2025, the app has been removed from the App Store, and the website is offline.
Who bought Centriq?
It was never announced. The shutdown email said user data might be provided to an unnamed company purchasing Centriq's functionality, and offered an opt-out. No company has said it is that buyer. HavenBinder is not, and holds no Centriq data.
Can HavenBinder recover my Centriq records?
No, and neither can anyone else. Centriq's systems are switched off. The only copy that exists is the CSV you exported yourself before the shutdown, and that is what the importer reads.
What was in the Centriq export?
Text fields only: item names, descriptions, brand, model and serial numbers, rooms, purchase dates and notes. Photos, receipts, uploaded documents and the manuals Centriq had found were not included.
Does HavenBinder find manuals and parts like Centriq did?
No. You attach the manual yourself, as a PDF or a link, and HavenBinder keeps the filter sizes and part numbers you save on the Sizes & Specs page, ready to copy at the hardware store. What it adds that Centriq never had: service history on each system, projects with their receipts, costs, an Emergency card, and Ask Your House, which answers from your own records.
What about Homer?
Homer is a real option and it finds manuals automatically on its paid plan. Two things to weigh: as of October 2026 Homer offers no export for homeowners, only a data-portability request by email under its privacy policy, and its terms say the manuals and AI notes it adds to your records belong to Homer. HavenBinder exports everything, any time.
How much does HavenBinder cost?
The Free plan includes every module for one home, with 3 Ask Your House answers and 5 document scans a month, and the Emergency card. Premium is $59.99/yr or $7.99/mo with a 7-day free trial. Household is $99.99/yr. Cancel any time from Settings or in your iPhone's subscription settings.
Is HavenBinder affiliated with Centriq or Homer?
